Top 25 Window And Door Manufacturers List In Florida

Florida’s window market is highly regulated and has consolidated significantly in recent years. MITER Brands completed its acquisition of PGT Innovations in March 2024, bringing PGT, WinDoor and CGI into its portfolio. Since then, some CGI lines have been discontinued while Sparta, Scout and selected French doors moved to the PGT brand. U.S. aluminum tariff increases in 2025 have also added cost pressure across the window-and-door supply chain, making older manufacturer lists more likely to be outdated.

This guide profiles 25 Florida window and door manufacturers and national brands serving the Florida market, each with an established presence in the state and relevant Florida-approved products.

What Buyers Should Know About Florida Window Manufacturers

Florida is one of the most demanding window markets in the United States. In wind-borne debris regions, glazed openings generally must be impact resistant or protected by an approved impact-resistant covering. Miami-Dade and Broward counties form the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), where products must be specifically approved for HVHZ use through an applicable Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) or an HVHZ-approved Florida Product Approval.

ECO Window Systems returned to its original founders in September 2024, while several former CGI products moved to PGT in 2026. Tecnoglass has also continued to report U.S. market-share gains. When comparing Florida window companies, verify current ownership, product availability and approvals before specifying a brand.

How We Selected Florida Window Manufacturers

Each of these impact window manufacturers Florida buyers commonly consider was assessed against five criteria: active manufacturer or brand status as of September 2026; demonstrated presence in Florida’s residential or commercial window market; at least one current Florida Product Approval (FL#) or valid Miami-Dade NOA associated with the manufacturer, brand or documented legal manufacturing entity; a verifiable official website or corporate registration; and a product range relevant to Florida’s climate and code requirements.

Primary sources include the Florida Building Commission Product Approval database, Miami-Dade County Product Control records, NFRC certification records, ENERGY STAR listings, official manufacturer websites and corporate filings. Dealer, contractor and published market sources were used only where needed for pricing, lead-time or availability context.

No listed manufacturer paid for inclusion. Parent-company relationships are disclosed in the comparison table. Product approvals, prices, availability and service areas can change, so verify current details before ordering.

Florida Impact Window Requirements

Florida’s modern window-performance rules were significantly reshaped after Hurricane Andrew struck South Florida in August 1992. The storm caused about $26.5 billion in damage in 1992 dollars and was associated with 65 deaths. Post-storm investigations exposed weaknesses in the state’s fragmented code system, enforcement and construction practices, helping drive the creation of a unified statewide Florida Building Code. Miami-Dade and Broward now operate under HVHZ requirements that are among the most stringent wind-borne-debris standards in the United States.

Hurricane Andrew damage shown beside a modern impact window installation in South Florida.

*The Catalyst & The Solution

In wind-borne debris regions, glazed openings generally must be impact resistant or protected by a compliant impact-resistant covering. In the HVHZ, compliance can be documented through a current Miami-Dade NOA or a Florida Product Approval specifically covering HVHZ approved windows.

HVHZ testing includes large-missile impact and cyclic pressure testing. The large-missile test generally uses a nominal 9 lb 2×4 timber missile traveling at 50 ft/s, followed by repeated pressure cycling.

Approval is product- and configuration-specific, not brand-wide, which is why hurricane window manufacturers must certify each model separately rather than relying on a single company-wide rating.

Florida Window Manufacturer Profiles

These profiles of Florida’s leading hurricane window manufacturers are based primarily on official manufacturer, regulatory and product-approval sources.

Mr. Glass Doors & Windows Manufacturing

Manufactures aluminum window, door and façade systems in Medley, Florida. Current approvals include HVHZ-rated impact casement, fixed and single-hung windows alongside larger commercial glazing systems.

How to Compare Window Approvals

Windows installed in Florida must have appropriate product-approval documentation demonstrating compliance with the Florida Building Code. A common reference is a statewide FL#, used to verify Florida Product Approval windows by manufacturer, model or approval number in the Florida Building Commission database.

Homeowner checking a Florida Product Approval record online.

A Miami-Dade NOA is a separate local approval commonly used for Miami-Dade approved windows in HVHZ zones. It is not the only route: a Florida Product Approval specifically approved for HVHZ use may also be accepted. Approval applies to the exact product and configuration, not the brand as a whole.

Before signing a contract, verify the approval record for the exact model, glazing configuration, design pressure and installation method through the Florida Building Commission or Miami-Dade County database.

Window Materials for Florida Homes

Aluminum windows is widely used for Florida impact windows because its structural strength supports relatively slim profiles, large glass areas and high design pressures. Standard aluminum conducts heat readily; thermally broken frames add a less conductive barrier to improve thermal performance. When comparing aluminum vs vinyl windows Florida homeowners should weigh thermal performance against structural strength and design-pressure needs. For a full comparison, see Parlun Building’s guide to PVC and aluminum windows.

*Illustrative comparison only.

Vinyl generally insulates better than standard aluminum and is also available in impact-rated products. Impact systems typically pair the frame with laminated glass designed to resist debris penetration. HVHZ-approved vinyl options include PGT WinGuard Vinyl, EAS Bertha, CWS Hurricane Guard Vinyl and selected Simonton StormBreaker Plus products. Approval varies by model and configuration. For Florida-specific energy ratings, see Parlun Building’s energy efficient windows guide.

Wood and clad-wood systems from Andersen, Marvin, Kolbe and Sierra Pacific are more common in premium and architect-specified projects. Selected coastal-impact and HVHZ-rated configurations are available, but approval varies by product line.

Costs, Lead Times and Warranties in Florida

Published 2026 Florida installer estimates commonly place standard residential Florida impact windows around $800 to $1,800 per opening installed, with oversized or premium products costing more. Standard impact sliding glass doors often run about $3,000 to $6,000 installed; large multi-panel or pocketing systems can reach $8,000 to $12,000 or more. Total impact window cost in Florida for whole-home projects commonly starts around $12,000 and can exceed $30,000, especially on larger coastal homes.

Homeowner reviewing an impact window quote and warranty details with a contractor.

Lead times vary by manufacturer, product and configuration. Custom sizes, specialty finishes and large sliding systems usually take longer. Tariffs and elevated aluminum costs have added pricing pressure since 2025, but the amount passed through to buyers varies by manufacturer and product.

Warranty terms also vary. Frames, finishes, hardware, laminated glass and insulated-glass seals may carry different coverage periods, and transferability is not universal. For coastal homes, check whether the warranty covers finish or hardware damage related to salt-air corrosion. Review the written warranty for the exact product before ordering.

How to Choose an Impact Window Manufacturer in Florida

Use the checklist below before committing to a product or contractor.

Homeowner reviewing window approvals, warranties and quotes with a Florida window contractor.

Florida window buyer checklist:

  • Confirm whether the company is a manufacturer, authorized dealer or installation contractor, and who is responsible for the product and installation warranties
  • Verify the specific product’s FL#, where applicable, at floridabuilding.org rather than relying on the brand name alone
  • If you are in Miami-Dade or Broward County, confirm that the exact product and configuration are approved for HVHZ use through a current Miami-Dade NOA or an applicable Florida Product Approval
  • Ask for the design pressure (DP) rating required for each opening and confirm that the selected product and size meet it
  • Confirm the service area and whether installation is performed directly or subcontracted
  • Request a written quote clearly stating what is included, including products, installation, permits, disposal and any additional work
  • Verify the installer’s current contractor license through myfloridalicense.com
  • Confirm warranty terms in writing, including coverage, the claims process and whether the warranty is transferable
  • Get two or three written quotes before committing
  • Ask for current lead times in writing, as availability can vary significantly by manufacturer, product and configuration

Florida Window Manufacturer Questions

Yes, for openings fitted with properly approved impact resistant windows. Florida code allows glazed openings in wind-borne debris regions to be protected either by impact-resistant glazing or an approved impact-resistant covering such as shutters. Non-impact openings still require compliant protection where the code applies.

They can. Florida insurers must offer appropriate wind-mitigation discounts or credits for qualifying features, including opening protection, but the actual saving depends on the insurer and property. A valid wind-mitigation inspection is normally used to document eligible features.

Not necessarily to complete the project, but partial replacement may not qualify for the full opening-protection credit. Citizens, for example, requires all applicable exterior or glazed openings to be protected for its Class A or B opening-protection credit. Check your insurer before assuming a partial upgrade will reduce your premium.

Yes. Impact-resistant glass can crack or break when struck by debris. Its purpose is to resist penetration and help prevent the building envelope from being breached, not necessarily to remain undamaged after a major impact.

No. Impact resistance and energy efficiency measure different performance characteristics. Compare the NFRC-rated U-factor and SHGC, as well as glazing and frame construction. In Florida’s hot climate, a lower SHGC is particularly important for reducing solar heat gain.
