Top 30 Window And Door Manufacturers In Australia

Finding the right window and door manufacturer in Australia takes more than comparing prices. Buyers need to check where the products are made, which areas the company serves, whether installation is available and who handles warranty problems.

The window also needs to suit the project’s energy assessment, wind classification and bushfire requirements. This guide compares 30 Australian window manufacturers and suppliers by location, frame material, glazing options, product range and project suitability. It is designed for homeowners, builders, architects and procurement teams preparing a reliable supplier shortlist.
For buyers comparing different frame materials and performance levels, reviewing the available aluminium and uPVC window systems can also help clarify which configurations are suitable before contacting manufacturers

Australian Window Manufacturers Buyer Overview

This guide covers local manufacturers, specialist fabricators, window system suppliers and companies that provide both manufacturing and installation. The list includes aluminium window manufacturers, uPVC window companies, timber window makers and suppliers offering double or triple glazing.

A window’s effect on heating and cooling depends partly on its whole-window U-value, which measures heat transfer, and its SHGC. A lower U-value means better insulation, while the most suitable SHGC depends on climate, orientation and shading. Double glazing is often useful in cooler areas and can also help air-conditioned homes in warmer climates, but it is not required for every project.
The right company depends on the project. Volume home builders may need regional production and consistent lead times. Custom homes may require thermally broken aluminium, timber joinery, unusual sizes or specific whole window U values and solar heat gain coefficients. Projects in exposed locations may also need verified wind or bushfire performance.
Use the comparison table to create a shortlist. Then check the exact product specification, manufacturing location, service area, installation responsibility, warranty terms and supporting compliance documents before placing an order.

How We Selected Australian Window Manufacturers

Companies were selected using publicly available product information, manufacturing details, service areas, warranty terms and official company websites. The list includes manufacturers, fabricators and specialist system suppliers because these businesses perform different roles in the Australian window market.

How We Selected Australian Window Manufacturers

The companies are included for comparison and are not ranked from best to worst. No company should be selected only because it appears in this guide. Product ranges, service coverage and warranty terms can change, so buyers should confirm the latest information directly with each company.
Parlunbuilding supplies building materials and custom windows from China. No company listed in this guide paid Parlunbuilding for inclusion.
Some projects also compare Australian suppliers with overseas factories, particularly for multi-unit developments or bulk orders. If importing is being considered, our guide on how to buy windows from China explains the main steps, from specifications and supplier checks to production and shipping.

Australian Window Manufacturer Comparison

This list is built for two different kinds of readers, and it’s worth knowing which one you are before you dive in.
If you’re renovating or building a single home in Australia and need local installation, on-site service, and an Australian warranty, the manufacturers below are your reference point compare them directly.
If you’re sourcing windows and doors at volume for a development, a multi-unit build, a renovation business, or an import operation you’re likely comparing manufacturing capacity and landed cost rather than a local installer. That’s where Parlun fits: we supply custom aluminium and PVC windows and doors factory-direct for international residential and commercial projects, at the volumes and specifications this kind of buyer needs.

Window Standards and Energy Ratings in Australia

Most external windows and framed glazed doors used in Australian buildings must meet the performance requirements that apply to the project. AS 2047 covers areas such as structural performance, air infiltration and water penetration. Glass selection and installation may also need to meet AS 1288.
Compliance is only one part of product selection. Buyers should also consider frame construction, seals, hardware, glazing, drainage and overall workmanship when assessing what makes a high-quality window.

WERS energy rating label showing heating and cooling star ratings on an Australian double glazed window with U-value and SHGC data visible

Ask the supplier for test documents that match the quoted window type, size, glass and wind classification. A general statement that a company follows Australian standards does not prove that every product configuration is suitable for every site.
The Window Energy Rating Scheme provides independently assessed performance information for windows and glazed doors. Important measurements include the whole window U value and solar heat gain coefficient. A lower U value normally means better resistance to heat transfer. The most suitable solar heat gain coefficient depends on the climate, orientation and shading of the building.
NCC 2022 introduced stronger residential energy efficiency requirements for many new homes. NCC 2025 retains the main residential energy provisions, but adoption dates and variations can differ between states and territories. Check the code edition that applies to the project before ordering windows.
Projects in bushfire prone areas may need a complete window assembly suited to the assessed Bushfire Attack Level. Projects in exposed or cyclonic areas need suitable wind performance. These requirements can affect the frame, glass, screens, seals, hardware and installation method.

Profiles of Australian Window Manufacturers and Suppliers

Choosing Windows for Australian Climate Zones

Australia has eight NCC climate zones, from hot, humid Zone 1 to alpine Zone 8. Use the ABCB climate map to check the project location. Orientation, shading, window area and the building’s energy assessment also shape the appropriate specification.
Because climate, orientation, glazing and frame design all affect thermal performance, buyers should compare complete window specifications rather than frame material alone. Our guide to energy efficient windows explains the main features to consider when reducing unwanted heat transfer and improving indoor comfort.

Map of Australia with colour-coded NCC climate zones showing hot humid north temperate coastal mid regions and cool southern and alpine zones

Zones 1 and 2, hot and humid. Darwin and Cairns are in Zone 1; Brisbane is in Zone 2. Limiting unwanted solar gain is usually a priority, especially for east- and west-facing windows. Shading and suitable SHGC values matter, while a lower U-value can still help air-conditioned buildings limit heat transfer.

Zones 3 and 4, hot and dry. Alice Springs is in Zone 3 and Mildura in Zone 4. These areas need a balance between summer heat control and winter comfort, particularly where nights are cool. North-facing windows may benefit from winter sun if they can be shaded in summer; east- and west-facing windows often need stronger solar control.

Zone 5, warm temperate. Perth, Adelaide and eastern Sydney are examples. Both U-value and SHGC matter: well-shaded north-facing windows can admit useful winter sun, while east- and west-facing glazing may need a lower SHGC. Check the precise location rather than applying a single climate zone to an entire metropolitan area.

Zones 6, 7 and 8, mild temperate to alpine. Melbourne and western Sydney are in Zone 6; Canberra and Hobart are in Zone 7. Zone 8 covers alpine locations. Limiting winter heat loss becomes increasingly important, making a low whole-window U-value a useful selection measure. Compare the complete window’s U-value and SHGC, including its frame and glazing, rather than choosing by frame material alone.

Climate zone does not establish a window’s required wind or bushfire performance. In exposed locations, use the project’s assessed site conditions alongside its energy documentation when requesting product specifications.

Window Materials and Glazing Options

Aluminium is strong, lightweight and available in a wide range of finishes. Standard aluminium conducts heat readily, while thermally broken frames use an insulating barrier between the inner and outer aluminium sections to reduce heat transfer. Examples in this guide include Dowell’s ThermaLine, Wideline’s Desire and Hanlon’s Thermal HEART ranges. Compare their complete-window ratings with those of other frame materials, since glazing also affects performance. Parlunbuilding’s aluminium window range and compare available configurations against the project’s required glazing and thermal performance

Aluminium and uPVC each have different strengths in thermal performance, maintenance, frame dimensions and design flexibility. Buyers deciding between the two can review our detailed uPVC and aluminium comparison before selecting a frame system.

uPVC insulates well and needs relatively little maintenance. It is commonly offered with double glazing, with triple glazing available in selected systems. Windows For Life, Integra, Thermotek, BINQ and Double Glazing Masters are among the uPVC companies in the comparison table. Some fabricate windows in Australia using imported profiles; buyers should confirm the manufacturing location and who handles installation and warranty claims for their order. Where insulation and low maintenance are important, buyers can also review our uPVC window options for different residential and commercial applications.

Timber provides natural insulation and suits many heritage and custom designs, but its finish generally needs more upkeep. The guide includes specialist timber manufacturers such as NICCO and Teal, alongside companies offering timber or timber–aluminium systems, including Paarhammer and Miglas. For a bushfire-prone site, check the suitability of the complete window assembly. Timber species or treatment alone does not establish its BAL suitability.

Double glazing consists of two panes separated by a sealed cavity containing air or a gas such as argon. Performance also depends on the frame, cavity width, spacer, glass selection, low-emissivity (low-E) coatings and seals. As an illustration, Australian Government guidance lists whole-window U-values of 6.9 W/m²K for single clear glazing in a standard aluminium frame, 4.2 W/m²K for basic double glazing in aluminium and 3.0 W/m²K for the same basic double glazing in a timber or uPVC frame. These are example configurations, not ratings for the brands in this guide.

Compare the certified whole-window U-value (Uw) and whole-window SHGC (SHGCw) for the quoted frame and glazing configuration. Ask the supplier for matching WERS product documentation. WERSLink has replaced the retired WERS 2.0 database, but buyers should not have to rely on direct access to WERSLink to obtain their product’s rating evidence.

Frame material is only one decision. Opening style also affects ventilation, sealing, usable wall space and day-to-day operation. Buyers deciding between two common options can compare casement versus sliding windows before finalising the window schedule.

Casement windows open outward on hinges and can provide a wide opening for ventilation. Their compression seals can also make them suitable for projects where air tightness and weather resistance are important, subject to the exact window system and specification.

Sliding windows are useful where an outward-opening sash would interfere with paths, balconies or other exterior spaces. They are also widely used where simple operation and larger horizontal openings are preferred.

Projects that include windows and external doors should specify both together where possible so frame finishes, glazing and hardware can be coordinated. Buyers can also review our entrance doors when preparing a combined window and door schedule.

Costs Lead Times and Warranties in Australia

Window prices depend on size, opening style, frame, glazing and installation. Ask suppliers to price the same window schedule and show the cost of any glazing upgrades separately. Confirm whether each quote includes screens, delivery, installation and Goods and Services Tax (GST). Supply-only and installed prices are not directly comparable.

Costs Lead Times and Warranties in Australia

There is no reliable national price for replacement or new construction windows. Cost depends on the size, opening style, frame material, glazing, hardware, finish, delivery and installation requirements.
Give every shortlisted company the same window schedule. Ask each supplier to separate the cost of frames, glass upgrades, screens, delivery, installation and GST. A supply only quotation should not be compared directly with a quotation that includes measurement and installation.

Lead times change according to the manufacturer, season and project size. Get the production date, delivery date and installation date in writing before arranging other construction work.

Warranty periods can differ between frames, glass, hardware and installation. Read the written exclusions and confirm which business will handle a claim. Australian Consumer Law rights may apply in addition to a written manufacturer warranty. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission warranty guidance explains these automatic consumer rights.

How to Choose an Australian Window Company

Before accepting a quote, use this checklist to check the company, the proposed windows and the terms of supply.

How to Choose an Australian Window Company
  • Identify the company’s role. Is it the manufacturer, local fabricator, importer, supplier or installer? Confirm who will handle product defects and warranty claims.
  • Check the exact specification. Request documentation for the quoted frame, glass, opening style and size. Confirm that its AS 2047 wind and water performance suits the site.
  • Match energy performance to the plans. Ask for the whole-window U-value and SHGC for the specified product. If a WERS rating is claimed, check the matching listing in WERSLink.
  • Check site-specific risks. For bushfire-prone sites, ask whether the complete window assembly suits the site’s BAL. For high-wind or cyclonic sites, confirm the site wind classification and the window’s corresponding rating. AS 4055 applies to housing wind classification where relevant; other projects may use AS/NZS 1170.2.
  • Confirm the compliance pathway. Ask the designer or energy assessor which window performance the project requires under its NatHERS assessment or other applicable NCC pathway before ordering.
  • Clarify supply and installation. Confirm the company’s service area, who measures and installs the windows, and whether installation has separate warranty coverage.
  • Read the warranty terms. Check coverage for frames, insulated glass units, hardware and installation, including exclusions and claim procedures.
  • Compare written quotes on the same basis. Give each company the same window schedule and ask it to itemise glazing, screens, delivery, installation, GST and lead times. Two or three quotes should make differences easier to spot.
  • Verify membership claims. If a company claims AGWA membership, check its current listing in the AGWA member directory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not necessarily. A company may deliver windows interstate without offering local measurement, installation or service visits. Ask who will check the openings, install the windows and return if a problem develops. Get those responsibilities in writing, especially when the supplier and installer are different businesses.

Possibly. A NatHERS certificate may permit a substitute that meets its window type and performance limits, including the maximum U-value and permitted SHGC range. Give the proposed product details to your energy assessor before ordering. They can check the substitution and advise whether the assessment or documentation needs updating.

Yes, if there is suitable evidence that the proposed windows meet the project’s applicable NCC requirements. An overseas certification alone should not be treated as proof of Australian compliance. Request documentation for the actual window system and have the project designer or building certifier review it before production or shipping.

If the builder supplied the windows under your contract, contact the builder first and check the contract’s claim process. The product manufacturer and installer may have separate warranties. For eligible consumer purchases, those warranties sit alongside Australian Consumer Law guarantees; a seller cannot simply direct you to the manufacturer to resolve a problem with a product it sold.

Yes this is common for developers, builders, and import businesses sourcing at volume, where factory-direct pricing and custom specifications matter more than local pickup. It’s less common for a single-home renovation, which usually needs a local installer for on-site fitting and warranty support.

Final Thoughts

The Australian window market includes large residential manufacturers, regional fabricators, custom timber specialists, uPVC suppliers and window system companies. Start by choosing businesses that serve the project location and provide the required frame, glazing and performance options.
Compare each company using the same window schedule. Before ordering, verify the exact U value, SHGC, wind rating, bushfire suitability, installation responsibility and written warranty. This process is more reliable than selecting a manufacturer only by price or brand recognition.
Once the drawings, dimensions, glazing requirements and required performance values are ready, you can speak to our purchase team to discuss the specification, quotation and manufacturing requirements for your project.
